The Old Bardstown Estate Bottled whiskey stems from the Willett family of bourbons. Although this bourbon is lacking an age statement, it is rumored to be 10 years old. The mash bill for this spirit is currently undisclosed. This bourbon is bottled at 101 proof.
The nose is pleasant and pops with cinnamon and tree nuts. Faint hints of corn and vanilla are also present.
The first sip has a medium viscosity, is nutty, and leaves a concentrated heat on the top and sides of the tongue as well as the back palate. The second sip is creamy and notes of vanilla, nuts, and wet wood are present. The third sip coats the mouth with cinnamon, spice, and vanilla.
The finish is short to medium with notes of malted barley and wet cherry wood. Cinnamon and vanilla are also present.
The Old Bardstown Estate Bottled Bourbon Whiskey is a steal for the price. A unique complexity is present on the nose and palate. The nose is warm with cinnamon, nuts, and Christmas spice. A creamy texture coupled with notes of cinnamon and vanilla make this an easy sipper. The finish was short to medium, but not disappointing. Overall, this is a quality product that can be purchased for a reasonable price. This bourbon would make a great addition to any bar.
